Terms of Service
Last updated 11 September 2026
These terms cover your use of AgriCircle Ghana, operated by Spatial Sustainability Hub. By opening an account you agree to them.
What this platform is
AgriCircle Ghana is a record-keeping and payment tool for Village Savings and Loan Associations. Your group keeps its own rules — its constitution, contribution amounts, interest rate and cycle dates — and this platform records what the group decides and moves money on its instruction. We are not a bank and we do not lend you money. Loans come from your group's own fund, on the terms your group set.
Your account
- You need a Ghanaian mobile number you control. Sign-in is your PIN plus a code sent to that number.
- Keep your PIN to yourself. Anyone with your PIN and your phone can move your money. Do not reuse a PIN from another service.
- Tell us immediately if you lose your phone or think someone knows your PIN.
- One account per person. Accounts are not transferable.
Money
- Deposits and cash-outs run through a licensed payment provider. Their timing and limits apply as well as ours.
- Cash-outs are paid only to your registered mobile money number. Changing that number requires a code sent to the new number and a short waiting period — this protects you if someone takes over your account.
- Your balance is your group's record of what you have saved. What you can withdraw depends on your group's rules and on money not currently out on loan.
- Charges, if any, are shown before you confirm a transaction.
Your group's decisions
Approving a loan, setting a fine, running a share-out and admitting a member are your group's decisions, taken by its officers under its constitution. We record and execute them; we do not make them and we do not arbitrate disputes between members. Take a disagreement to your group, its field officer, or the courts.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the platform to launder money, to finance anything illegal, to impersonate another person, or to probe, scrape or attack the service. We may suspend an account we reasonably believe is being used this way, and we report what the law requires us to report.
Availability
We work to keep the service running but cannot promise it will never be unavailable. SMS delivery depends on mobile networks we do not control. If a code does not arrive you can request another, and your group's records are never lost because a message was.
Liability
We are responsible for our own failures — losing your records, or moving money we were not instructed to move. We are not responsible for losses caused by someone you gave your PIN to, by a decision your group made, or by a mobile network or payment provider outage. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
Closing your account
You can leave at any time; settle outstanding loans and collect your share at the next share-out first. We keep financial records afterwards as the Privacy Policy describes.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana.
